ServiceNow Developer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled ServiceNow Developer to help design, develop, configure and enhance ServiceNow solutions for enterprise customers. You will work on technical delivery across the platform, building applications, automating workflows, developing integrations and improving existing implementations. You should understand maintainable code, platform best practices, upgrade safety and business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and configure ServiceNow applications and platform functionality.
• Build and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies and UI Actions.
• Design workflows, subflows and automation using Flow Designer.
• Develop integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs and IntegrationHub where appropriate.
• Configure Service Catalog items, forms, notifications and approval workflows.
• Support ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change and Request Management.
• Contribute to CMDB, ITAM, SAM Pro or other modules where relevant.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance issues and technical problems.
• Follow development standards, version control and controlled deployment procedures.
• Test and document technical solutions, collaborate with consultants and stakeholders.

Required skills and experience

• Practical ServiceNow platform development experience.
• Strong JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting knowledge.
• Experience with Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes and configuration.
• Knowledge of Flow Designer, Service Catalog and workflow automation.
• Understanding of REST integrations and data exchange.
• Familiarity with update sets, application development and deployment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and analytical skills.

Desirable skills

• Experience with ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, ITAM or SAM Pro.
• IntegrationHub, MID Server or scripted REST API experience.
• Familiarity with Automated Test Framework (ATF).
• ServiceNow CSA or relevant developer certification.
• Experience with enterprise implementations, upgrades or optimisation.
